Susan E. Elliott-Johns holds a B.Ed. (Hons) from the University of London and MEd and PhD degrees from McGill University (Curriculum and Instruction). Prior to joining the faculty at
Nipissing University in 2006 where she taught pre-service teacher education (B.Ed.) and graduate education in the M.Ed. and Ph.D. programs (including doctoral supervision), for 15
years, Dr. Elliott-Johns enjoyed a successful career in public education as a teacher (JK–10), literacy consultant, teacher educator, and elementary school administrator. She has been a
part-time member of the faculty at Yorkville University since March 2018. Her scholarly research interests focus primarily on qualitative inquiry and include pedagogy and praxis for
contemporary adult education, graduate education, professional learning (interdisciplinary), critical reflexive inquiry, and critically conscious educational leadership development.
