Jeeyeon Ryu completed her PhD in Curriculum Studies at The University of British Columbia, specializing in music education and arts-based research methodologies. She has over 20 years of teaching, researching, and leadership experiences. Her scholarly research interests and expertise include a/r/tography, autoethnography, and poetic inquiry, creative teaching/learning, teacher education, early childhood education, and curriculum/pedagogy studies. As an artist/teacher/researcher, she integrates a variety of artistic genres into her teaching and research practices, including music, poetry, video, stories, and creative writing. Her artistic/scholarly works are published in the Oxford University Press, Music Education Research, International Journal of Education Through Art, Poetic Inquiry: Enchantment of Place, LEARNing Landscape Journal, Handbook of Arts-Based Research, and Rutledge. As a faculty member, Jeeyeon is dedicated to sharing meaningful, creative ways of teaching, learning, and engaging with scholarly research with the aspiring education graduate students at Yorkville University.
